Graphics Notes & Updates
March - May 2006

What's now:

I finally got the time to update this site & even add a new section!
Unfortunately to do that, I had to put the adoptable orders on hold - very sorry.
I had 2 commercial jobs that kept me very busy and I just had to do something new around here

So if you didn't get your adoptable and it's been a long time, please resubmit your order form again. Sorry about that.

As far as graphics I'm currently doing... I'm making new avatars & icons [avicons] to fill up the new section.
I've also started offering some Shareware and business/commercial web templates here.
Shareware has some definite advantages for you in that less people will purchase it to use, and the less people using it makes it more exclusive and unique to your site. It helps me, in that I get a little bit of compensation for the time, work and resources I've purchased to create everything.

Most shareware prices I've seen start at $5.00, but I like to keep prices low, so mine will stay at $2 to $3.00 depending on the complexity and time spent making it.

I may be adding a new Commercial, Business web template section here too. They're mainly intended for small businesses that prefer a less commercialized - sterile look. My goal is to make some business templates that can also be used on personal sites as well.

To Do List:

I WISH I had more time in a day to do everything I'd like to around here! But for now, I need to fill up the Avicon section, complete adoptable orders & then possibly add a business template section and make some more websets. I WILL eventually remove & redo many of the plaques.

I also want to make a website tip/help/info page with some useful tips on making a good site that people will enjoy visiting (and returning to)

One day I might get to putting up my stock photography gallery...???

Personally~Lately:

I keep getting asked if the girl on my current Set is me or not, so to end any confusion, YES IT IS. =)
It's part of my stock photography collection if I can ever get a gallery going. I do close-up (macro) shots of nature, variations of body parts, self portrait and other assorted interesting things like iron gates, abandoned buildings, etc.

Right now I'm really into the Underworld and Underworld Evolution flix!
I'm a late bloomer and just saw Underworld a few months ago (it came out in 2003)... so I was thrilled when the sequal hit theatres a few weeks ago. I saw Underworld Evolution 2 times at the theatre (which I NEVER do; I hate going to movies lol) and loved it. I liked it better the 2nd time actually.
So that's really inspiring me right now (partially because Scott Speedman stars in it and he's very 'inspiring' to my eyes. ;)~

I know that's completely superficial of me, but let's be real--, I don't know him personally to have any deeper thoughts or knowledge about him, so most of what we as "fans" like our actors for are physical appearance and/or acting skills.
Basic infatuation.

Speaking of Eye Candy, I'm still heavily inspired by Gary Oldman's older movies. What a phenomenal actor. He's definitely given direction to my work for quite awhile now and probably will for some time to come.

Design Styles:

As far as the designs go, I'm a diehard ECLECTIC; whatever inspires or presses on me at the time - my mood, events, images i see, movies/scripts, music/lyrics... can have a profound impression on me..
i was heavily inspired by the Hannibal script (which was pure brilliance 'imho') and some script/scenes from Basquiat, Immortal Beloved & Bram Stoker's Dracula (Gary Oldman flix ;) where I'll build the set's theme around the feeling/emotion something brought out of me.

i've been asked about my webset preferences and I'd have to say I love simple blog sets most. They're so clean, stark and edgy (and aren't just for journaling anymore).

Busy, over-cluttered web pages confuse me and make me feel clostrophobic lol. I like to go to a website that i don't have to take a course in rocket science to get through it :P

i can't force graphics. I need to "feel" them or feel drawn to the concept... i figure if i don't get any feeling from something, you probably won't either.

i like the beauty or originality of an image to be the main focus - I prefer real photography and enhancing that image to set a mood. Even darker, macabre themes have a quality of beauty in them that can be brought out & enhanced.

General graphics info:

I've added a clause in my Terms of Use that the graphics here can't be recompressed or resized~
That's because i already make the image as SMALL as i can/as i want it to be and have compressed it as much as possible so that it's as light a file as it can be while keeping full visual quality.

I see alot of websites with recompressed & resized images that just look NASTY and that reflects on both of us.

I ran my own personal website for 3 years and I KNOW how frustrating it is to want to use an image/webset that's just way too large in kb weight.
I was irritated that so many graphics makers didn't pay any attn. to file sizes!
But honestly, it doesn't help your site to make the image look horrible just because YOU liked it in it's original state...

If something here is too big or heavy for you, then please don't use it - there's LOTS of great graphics designers out there that might have something that works better for you =)

I hope you're learning the CSS basics - CSS is here to stay. Once you get the hang of it, it's really great. The coding isn't as heavy & repedative and you can do so many unique things with it.
I'm not using separate style sheets yet because I know it's confusing for beginners, and they're designed for sites that use one webset for their entire site (making input changes easy) which most personal sites don't utilize.

Alot of the images you see here can be customized if you have some special sayings or other text you'de like made into a graphic for your site. Just ask if you're not sure.

Etc:

GOE graphics are considered Linkware (free to use with a link back to GOE) unless otherwise noted.
My graphics are condensed as much as possible without degrading their quality.
I'll continue to keep my pages light & simple, without all the extras to keep your browsing time down.

i hope something here interests
or enhances you in some way
